Regretfully, Marion Freedom Day (our community's 4th of July parade-carnival-BBQ that we host) is cancelled. A majority of the Marion Fire District's Board of Directors decided to cancel the event, because of COVID-19. Hopefully, we will be able to host the event next year.
We are looking for volunteers from the community-at-large to help and participate in this year's event on Independence Day. We're especially hopeful to get more participants in the parade that can create/pull a decorated float or drive a classic car. Cooler temperatures and precipitation recently dropped our fire danger level to "Moderate." However, please don't jump the gun and start burning your slash piles and agricultural debris.
