Unfortunately, our firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire in Marion on 01/07/2017. When they arrived, flames were already shooting out the roof. The fire was brought under control quickly and then extinguished. Happily, nobody was injured. Sadly, the house and its contents are a total loss. We're planning a soup and chowder cook-off tentatively scheduled for Saturday February 25, 2017. This morning, 12/16/2016, our firefighters were dispatched to respond to a structure fire in Marion. When they arrived, a trailer home was totally involved. Unfortunately, it is a complete loss. The residents, a mom and her 4-year-old girl, are now homeless. The woman was transported to the hospital with some lacerations after she broke out a window saving the child. ...

Interested in getting involved? We are planning a training course for those in our community who would like to be Emergency Medical Responders (EMR). Haunted House Photo Collage On Halloween, department and auxiliary volunteers utterly transformed our main fire station into a haunted house and threw a party to entertain kids of all ages. The party was such a success that the volunteers are already looking forward to throwing another bash next Halloween.
