Highway 2 Closure

US-2 between Pleasant Valley Road and Gopher Lane is closed to traffic while firefighters battle a fire featuring small explosions at Marion Security Storage (across from Moose Crossing). Drivers needing to go to points west of Gopher Lane and east of Pleasant Valley Road can detour through Marion. Please, drive slowly while on lookout for responders and school children.

Structure Fire–02/11/2018

Last night, a homeowner on Round Mountain called 9-1-1 to report his house was on fire. Unfortunately, when firefighters arrived on scene, flames had fully engulfed the home. Ice Rescue Training

Looking forward to today's winds dying down. It's a pity that unfavorable conditions on McGregor Lake forced cancellation of the Lodge's annual ice fishing derby scheduled for this weekend. Firefighting Amphibious Aircraft

On August 13, 2017, Craig Kempthorne, who is a member of the Marion Fire Auxiliary, took this video of amphibious aircraft scooping water out of Little Bitterroot Lake to fight the Tamarack Fire that started in Lincoln County just west of Island Lake during the night of a lightening storm on August 11th.
