Advanced Life Support

Marion Fire District (MFD)'s ambulance service is now licensed to offer Advanced Life Support (ALS) services! This will hopefully improve outcomes for patients in our district who are in dire straits during transport to the hospital. At a recent staff meeting, Chief Katie Mast reported complaints from a few people that they "couldn't see" first responders during hours of darkness who were controlling traffic near emergency incident scenes. Round Up for Safety Grant

Flathead Electric Cooperative (FEC) is giving us a $6,000 grant to purchase thermal imaging and multi-gas detection equipment. Fire Academy 2018

Fire Academy starts on February 23rd. At our main fire station, we will train eight new volunteers to be firefighters. It will be rewarding, but also exhausting. The trainees and our volunteer instructors will train each weekend until May 25th. Our community is blessed to have so many dedicated volunteers.

Highway 2 Reopened

Operations to mop up the fire at Marion Security Storage will continue into the night, but US-2 is now open to through traffic. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
